Mighty jets thundering overhead. Sun radiating through large mature trees and glittering of sweet water hazards.
8 wasters laughing and arguing their way around 22 holes on a great golf course.
This was the Manukau Mash Up, another stage in the dubious history of the Freaky Styley DAKAR.
TD No Sleep Pete held onto his star status for as long as he could, pulling out some crazy rules midway through the tournament. It seemed like he was doing his best to maintain a level playing field with sharp penalties to try and keep the straight throwers in line.
He managed to add quite a few shots to Baz's score, but semi straight thrower Serf sneaked throught to a play off with Jim who, of course, crumbled.
And so the DAKAR has now gone full circle, back in the hands of the man who's name is inscribed at the very top - Dave Serf.
In true DAKAR style, Dave laughed in the face of a dejected Mr Anderson as he grabbed the trophy away before any formal handover could take place.
Now we eagerly await what fun Serf will have in store for us - rumours are strong that it could be held at Raglan. |
